Quarantine Made Me Do It: New Playlists for You

Quarantine has been an interesting experience; I’ve definitely had my ups and downs during this isolation. Don’t take me wrong, I’ve always enjoyed being by myself and just being in my own little world, but after two months of not seeing friends, family, or coworkers, it gets a little lonely.

I’ve always tried to be an optimistic and happy person, so feeling alone and sad is something I try to avoid. This is why I decided to expand my hobbies: do things I hadn’t done before and return to those hobbies I had abandoned. Things I’ve done during this quarantine include purchasing more vinyls and listening to records (old and new), finally finished reading a book, learned a little bit more about investing/finance, got a guitar to re-learn how to play, and I’ve definitely purchased way too many things from Amazon.

During these times I’ve also re-listened to old playlists and created new ones. I made updates to some of my older playlists that I had been meaning to do for years but never did. Long story short, I’m so happy with these playlists that I wanted to share them with you! It’s also been years since I’ve shared a playlist in the blog so I decided it was about that time again.

Classic Punk / Post-Punk

I created this playlist five years ago and never really kept adding new songs to it. I couldn’t figure out what I wanted this playlist to be. Literally, for years I just didn’t, but after watching a couple of punk documentaries I knew EXACTLY what this playlist was meant to be. Ever since I started adding new songs to it, I haven’t stopped listening; it’s definitely one of my new favorites. I also feel like this is my dark playlist and you’ll know what I’m referring to once you take a listen. One last thing, I highly recommend all my playlists to be listened to on shuffle, that’s how I do it and it’s definitely more exciting!

SoHo – (Soft House / Soft Electronic)

I’ve had one electronic playlist that I’ve been listening to for years. I believe it’s one of the playlists I shared in the blog a few years ago, but it’s also a playlist that has all sorts of electronic music. So I decided to create a new one dedicated to more chill electronic tracks. This one I’ve named SoHo for Soft House. Another new favorite playlist that I’ve been listening to during my morning walks/runs in quarantine.

Nouveau Espagnol – New Music in Spanish

This playlist has a similar story to the last one. I have a couple of playlists with my favorite Mexican songs and other music in Spanish I enjoy. However there’s definitely new music in Spanish I’ve started listening to that represents a different phase in my life. The reason why I decided these new songs deserved its own playlist.

Let me know what you guys think! I hope these playlists make you happy during these tough times as they’ve made me.
