This month has been amazing! I’ve been blessed with many music events, and each one has proven to be a wonderful experience. This past weekend, I went back to Austin for more music. As you know, Formula 1 occurred last week, which not only meant busy streets, but also A LOT of music opportunities. Even though I didn’t get to go to all of them, I’d like to share my Saturday evening.
Before I say more, I want to list some of the performers last weekend, including Gorgon City, Amtrak, Elle King, Kill the Noise, and many others. There was even a free music festival –Fan Fest– with appearances from Public Enemy and A-Trak. It was a rain-or-shine event, so there was a lot of mud. The weather in Austin wasn’t that great; it never stopped raining, but that didn’t stop anyone from enjoying the weekend.
Anyway, since I couldn’t be everywhere I wanted to at once, I had to choose one show. I ended up going to Kill the Noise at Kingdom, which was pretty fun, especially after more DJs showed up. It was like a DJ friends’ reunion. The music was a little too intense for my taste, but I still enjoyed it, alongside new friends I made at the event.
Overall, I was so entertained with the event that I forgot to take pictures. There’s plenty of them out there and just by looking at them you can get a feel for the energy that enveloped the night. Kill The Noise, A-Trak, Prince Fox, AWE, and Yung Wall Street shared the spotlight in a night that many will remember.
