The Kooks Release New Music Video, ‘Be Who You Are’

I’ve been waiting for The Kooks to release new music for quite a while now, and what better way than to start with a new music video. The Kooks have been one of my go-to bands since middle school/high school days and I remember the first Kooks song I listened to was because of Myspace — Naive (still one of my favorites). And even though I’ve kept track of their music throughout the years, ‘Be Who You Are’ might be a new favorite.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I found out about their new release. There’s always that feeling of being disappointed by a band/musician you love, but I’m glad that wasn’t the case. Not only do I love this song’s lyrics but I also enjoyed the music video. It feels like they’re reminiscing about their musical journey from a young Luke Pritchard’s perspective, when The Kooks were about to start their musical career. It even sounds like their old music in a way.

It’s a really fun song that just puts you in a good mood. It makes you feel happy about yourself, your life, and your future. I also think it portrays The Kooks’ success and how they’re uniqueness and artistry got them where they are today. Can’t wait to see more of them in the future!
